OK, back to quoting Dan Gable again! Hey, the guy has the competing and coaching credentials out the wahzoo, so it probably would be beneficial to listen, you know? Anyway, he says, “the longer, the longer”. If you have a problem or issue, the longer you let it go without addressing it, the longer it takes to get back on track. The road back to totally fixing the problem might take awhile, but the quicker you get to it, to quicker it gets fixed. The “longer, longer” principle also works on the positive side. The longer you build a relationship the right way or the longer you train or compete the right way, the better chance you have for long term success. Or, in other words, the longer that positive trend will continue.
