To follow up on last week’s Tottenism Tuesday, I am going to reference Marty Bennett of Rejoice Christian School who had an excellent chapter in Ron McKeefery’s awesome book, “Weight Room Wisdom” (by the way, check out Ron’s book sometime – it is an outstanding collection of stories and essays from top strength coaches all around the country!) Marty’s chapter was entitled “Confidence is a Product of Preparation”. Going back to last week’s Tottenism, “Don’t Change the Routine”, that is exactly the point I am trying to make. Work consistently, prepare consistently. The more you do that, the more confidence you build and the less anxiety for those bigger moments or bigger lifts. If you train like that, it becomes second nature to attack everything the same way with the same intensity. It takes confidence to hit those big lifts and the best way to do that is to prepare, prepare, prepare!! @rmckeefery
