One of my favorite words. By definition, the word KAIZEN is “a business philosophy or system that is based on making positive changes on a regular basis, as to improve productivity, an approach to one’s personal or social life that focuses on continuous improvement.” This concept was brought to my attention while studying one of Tony Robbins’ self-improvement books a few years back (yeah, I’m that nerd who is always studying other successful people, no matter what their line of work). Particularly now that everyone's New Year’s resolutions have fallen by the wayside, remember that success is a process and you can apply this concept to your lifting and coaching career. Often a long and tedious process and one that may not produce results as quickly as you want. Step by step, keep the focus, keep your eye on the prize. Remember – “positive changes on a regular basis”. Kaizen works!
