OK, I know what you’re thinking, Strategerize isn’t even a word. I know that, I just wanted to see if you were paying attention! 😊 Actually, now that I have your attention, a good coach is “strategizing” all the time. We are constantly making a plan of attack for our athletes, whether it be in setting up their individual training programs or getting everything lined up for just the right starting attempt on the platform with the perfect warmups leading up to that opening attempt. The coach has to know the athlete and know the situation but also has to be ready to change that mode of attack because sh…, uh, “stuff”, happens. What has to happen then is the coach has to re-think and re-strategize. This has to be an ongoing endeavor but there are some coaches out there who are set in their ways and aren’t ready to adapt. So, be constantly evolving and changing as the environment changes and be ready to Strategerize to best help your athletes. It may not be a real word, but I think you get the point!
